Doctoral student: Beyond Google Scholar OR Choose and use suitable databases

Wednesday 13 November, at 09:30 - 12:00
Social Sciences Library Föreningsgatan

Join us in this workshop where you get to try out features and functions of Scopus, Web of Science and Swepub, such as multidisciplinary literature search, chain/citation search, how to get an overview of your subject field, and where to find research in Swedish.

About the event

The Social Sciences Libraries offer a lecture and a subsequent workshop for doctoral students who are starting up their literature review, writing their thesis plan or feel they need a run-through of how to search for information in subject databases.

Preparations for the workshop

You attend a lecture at the time that best suits you (an identical lecture is offered at three different times). If you cannot attend the lecture, you need to prepare for the workshop by reading the sections The search strategy toolbox (Subject database search, Author search, Chaining) and Information resources (Subject databases, Citation databases) in the Canvas-module Introduction to information literacy and scholarly communication for doctoral students.

We ask you to register for the workshop. The workshop has a focus on disciplines at the Faculties of Education, IT, Social Science and the School of Business, Economics and Law.
