Exhibition at the Biomedical Library: From midwives to obstetric science

An exhibition of the Biomedical Library's oldest books on obstetrics, written in the 17th and 18th centuries, is on display until 31 October. The books show how obstetric care developed from being based mainly on oral tradition to becoming a recognised scientific field.
