New website highlights the library’s unique special collections, archives and manuscripts

20 February 2025

Today, the Gothenburg University Library is launching a new website that makes the library’s extensive cultural heritage collections more visible. The aim is to facilitate research and raise awareness of the unique material available at the University Library.

The website will serve as a single entry point for researchers both nationally and internationally. It provides clear and structured access to the library’s special collections, archives, manuscripts, maps and other historical material, and provides information on how to find and order the material.

Visitors can browse special collections such as the Hvitfeldtska collection, Herbert Blomstedt Collection, Carl Snoilsky collection and personal and association archives such as Evert Taube, Barbro Alving, Otto Nordenskjöld and Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. – We hope that this new website will contribute to new knowledge and insights about our common cultural heritage, as well as stimulate new research ideas, says Anders Strinnholm, cultural heritage coordinator and project manager.

The website will eventually be available in English. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact team Special collections and archives via e-mail. Welcome to explore the Gothenburg University Library’s special collections, archives and manuscripts!
