Participate in the library's reference group to make our collections more accessible for research

1 April 2021

The library is looking for reference persons that can help us make the library’s collections more accessible for research.

The library will investigate how the older and unique collections can become more accessible for research. To get it right, we need reference persons. The library’s collections contain material that is difficult to access for research. The collections consist, for example, of older materials from the former Gothenburg Museum, donations and purchased book collections, manuscript archives and ephemera such as posters. Much of the material is available at the Humanities Library, but also at the Biomedical Library, with collections in medicine and science from the 16th century onwards that contain older books and manuscripts in the subject areas of botany, zoology and medical history.

If you use the library’s collections in your research, or if you supervise students and doctoral students who do so, the library wants to include you in a reference group. The purpose is to find useful ways to make the library’s older collections accessible.
